I talk to my friend this morning about raising alchemy skill plan and it inspires me to make this entry. His current skill is 92.x I don’t know what x is and I think he doesn’t too lol, our goal is raise it up to 95-98. I think we should stop at 95 first and see how this plan turn out, if it sucks then stop at 95 since it is enough to achieve next tier on our target item.

Viable choice for skill up at 92-98 would be Panacea just because its recipe requires easy obtained item, all of them either always have a lot up on auction house or can buy from NPC. I don’t say it is cost efficiency though, on the other hand it is pretty bad when it comes to cost to make and sell price. Pannaca basically never sells so it means either I have to sell them to NPC for 3,900 gils or need to turn them into something else that doesn’t hurt my pocket much.

Let’s take a loot at Panacea recipe.

  • 1 x Light Crystal – 5,000 (Stack)
  • 1 x Philosopher’s Stone – 120,000 (Stack)
  • 1 x Mercury – 5,000 (Stack)
  • 1 x Sulfur – 2,200 (Stack)
  • 1 x Rock Salt – 500 (Stack)

This recipe yields 1 Panacea, means 1 Panacea cost is 11,058 gil while it sells to NPC for 3,900 gils so uh 7,158 gils loss per attempt. My financial counselor would say you are retarded if you doing this, but wait a minute! Panacea can be made into Platinum Nuggets and can raise skill up to 96. Recipe for it is

  • 1 x Fire Crystal – 2,000 (Stack)
  • 1 x Panacea – 11,058 (EA)
  • 1 x Platinum Leaf – 21,000 (Stack)

Yield 9 Platinum Nuggets, so 1 Platinum Nugget cost is 1,442 gils each or 17,300 gils a stack while it sells on auction house for 17,000 gils a stack. Pretty good break even skill up right ? Yeah but let’s take it further! Platinum Nugget can be made into Platinum Ingot using the following recipe

  • 1 x Fire Crystal – 2,000 (Stack)
  • 6 x Platinum Nuggets – 1,442 (EA)
  • 1 x Platinum Ore – 6,000 (EA)

Yield 1 Platinum Ingot, cost is 14,817 gils and sells for 17,000 gils. There! I make profit now :D although it is minimal (2,183 gils) but consider this way I can skill up 2 times using 1 set of materials and still break even or make little profit while doing so, not bad at all!

Latest news about Mythic Weapons which I prefer call it Nyzul Relic like everyone else is number of alexandrite needed for completion of the weapon will be adjusted, most likely lowered and will be new method of obtaining them. A general survey was conducted to ascertain several important facts regarding Salvage and the alexandrite drops within. These included, but were not limited to, considerations such as how many instances of Salvage were being run by players, which routes were being taken and which enemies fought most frequently in each area, and an overall gauge of player progression through Salvage. From this data, an estimation was extrapolated of how much alexandrite would drop server-wide on any given day. Following the introduction of the mythic weapon quests, we were able to confirm that the alexandrite drops were occurring on a par with what was assumed would be the case. The overall amount available for distribution, however, was judged to be overwhelmingly lacking.

In response to these findings, the version update will usher in a reduction to the total amount of alexandrite necessary for the completion of the mythic weapons. Also, new means of obtaining alexandrite will be introduced in an attempt to ease the gathering process.

This is an interesting part. I believe everyone here agree that total amount of 50,000 alexandrite needed to complete Nyzul Relic is pretty ridiculous and now it seems SE agree with that too. What interesting is they saying method of determine new value will be behavier of Salvage run survey. Consider first annoucement of Mythic Weapon was on 5/2/2008 so it has been roughly 3 months since then and next version update probably occur in middle of August, so this means SE have 3 months worth of servey to consider what should be new value of alexandrite needed.

This make me wonder if SE did same thing to relic as well when they firstly introduce it but I don’t see any record of SE changing currency needed for completion of relic weapon in any archive so I assume they didn’t. Thinking about back then we didn’t farm currency efficiently due to many reason, don’t have experience with it, don’t have access to merit and such, don’t have access to fancy gears an job, etc. make it looks like SE is really smart about relic and make it easier to obtain when more expansion and update are introduced. I don’t think so lol, I think their effort on version update indirectly make obtaining relic easier and wasn’t their intention just get lucky and turn out okay. I’m not very optimistic person here hehe.

There is 25 days since I returned Holyknight Emblem medal and I’m not get any rank up yet, I have 5 days left to turn myself to a Campaign nerd or I’ll lost another medal. I admit I don’t do much Campaign in past few weeks but it isn’t like I completely ignore it. I’m pretty confident that I made around 25K limit point in 10-15 random Campaign session in those previous weekend and it should warrant my rank up, but apparently it does not. I don’t remember rank up in Campaign is this hard >.> I usually get rank up after I done about 10K limit point in Campaign battle.

So I went to get more information regard this issue on BG forum and FF11 wiki and found this on FF11 wiki page.

Effort accumulated towards a promotion will decay slowly over time.

That must be it, when I do Campaign battle I usually do 1-2 battles then warp back to Whitegate to trade more plate in for zeni and wait another day to trade more or go out and get some more picture, never go back and do more Campaign since I don’t have much time left in a day after that and sometime don’t do for few days because I thought I just need 10K limit points to rank up -.- So this mean my plan to give Campaign less priority in my to do list and just do them when I’m free from other stuff is now kick me in the ass. I might have to devote 1 day to do Campaign battle only to ensure my rank up instead >.>

I believe I’m close to breaking promise that I have with myself when I was thinking about play this game again, yeah one that I said I won’t be touching linkshell management and stuff again, won’t give a shit about most of thing around me and just enjoy playing the game.

I really need to work on the let go part and being care about myself more, in another word become more selfish. I know what was killing me and burn me out last time that make me decide to stop playing for awhile is exact same thing I’m about to get involved now. It sounds good that I know what is going and so I can deal with it better this time? yeah maybe but problem is I doubt I’m dealing with it better. I’m kind of desperate because between two things I have to choose which are basically myself and my linkshell, of course I can’t have both.

I run away from thing that I might be able to fix it because I don’t want myself to feel like shit and ruin my real life. Is it really good for me? yes sure I don’t have to think too much and game remain game which serve only its purpose, to have fun. But if thing that I ignore happen and it cost me more than I thought, ruin my friend fun or screw them over? while I can work with it and it might turn out other way which is better? I probably regret doing so. I believe my problem is I can’t do it and don’t take those stuff too serious or think about it too much and let it overrun my real life. How to fix it? I don’t know heh maybe you can tell me, for now all I can think is I probably better walk away until I’m ready, or forever.

Maybe I exaggerate much but that is how I feel. Any advise or comment is very welcome! >.>

I have great plan for this Saturday it was like take my GF to lunch and watch Batman : The Dark Knight then spend evening in the park but like the post title said, nothing went as I planned.

I supposed to meet her at mall around 1.30PM but I got into really bad traffic jam on the way to mall and I don’t think I’ll make it in time, actually if I stay there it probably took another hour or so like it used to happen to me before. I call my GF and told her I’ll meet her at subway station instead since she have to stop there before go to mall anyway. But yeah life isn’t easy, I spend almost 20 minutes find the free spot in parking lot driving around burning my gas is real beautiful. My GF asked why I came so late, I smiled but didn’t say anything ._.

We got to mall and check The Dark Knight showtime and found that we just missed current show by 20 minutes and next one is at 4.45PM, way too late for us. I look for other movie showtime Hellboy 2 oh yeah it looks fun but new show is 4.30PM, random Thai comedy movie ? no thank you, then I found this movie Hancock. I remember almost 2 weeks ago I really want to watch it but me and my GF schedule didn’t allow us, next show 3.45PM ? cool although I’m surprise it still in theater this late.

Odin is done and all those planning go waste because I didn’t get a chance to go as WAR -_- I logged in and they ask me to come as RDM/WHM instead because apparently we short 1 RDM so people have to switch PT around.

So much for logged out at Nashmue on night before, I warp back to Whitegate to grab AF and Yigit set from storage NPC. While run through ruin to get to Nashmue (screw speed boat fix by the way) I imagine about drop, what would it be if this drop, that drop, who is going to bid etc, it is really great killing time -_- I was put in tank party also and it make me nervous a little since I know how busy those RDM will be while I’m tank for them in Odin fight, afraid of missing something and it is critical.

Our strategy is simple, we have 3 RDM/NIN designated to pull each summons that will pop during the fight and kite them until they lost agro and depop. We have 1 RNG party, 2 merit party setup DD party  and RDM/NIN kiting party, RNG definitely own Odin hehe. We make RNGs and mages move in every 25% of Odin HP is gone to share Geirrothr damage with melees and tanks. The rest of strategy is you know, don’t die.

The fight went kind of smoothly until first wave of summons pop and I believe they rape our PLD images and Odin finish him off, ouch ;x then they make quick work of our BRD after. But we got it undercontrolled shortly after, PLD and BRD are raised no major harm done I supposed. Another mess up happen when last Geirrothr about to occur we have our RNGs and mages in range waiting for it but I he use different WS, I think it was Ofnir and people start moving out of range because they thought it was Geirrothr (including me, shame shame T.T) then he use Geirrothr after drop our melee alliance to orange. Oh and I tried to nuke him down with my uber RDM blizzard 3 in order to steal kill shot but it was failed miserably.

Drop is amazing I would say, 2 Dalmaticas, Koenig Diechlings and lolShadow Sabatons. I bid on Dalmatica and lost but kind of surprise that not many want it, I assume because most of them have Morrigan Robe already ._. then I move to Koenig Diechlings and was about to bid to show them how real loot whore is. Actually I really want Koenig Diechlings since maybe 4 years ago? when I got all Koenig pieces but not Diechlings because it drop off King Behemoth and the competition was really really bad back then (probably still is) I realize it is semi useless now but it still a great trophy item for me. Unfortunately today is not my day, another PLD want it as well but the funny part is I don’t even know he want it before, I don’t think he ever want Koenig piece until now lol actually he is the one who pass me Koenig Cuirass 4 years ago too lol. So he got it since he has more point than me. Well I’m fine with that, we will get a lot more in future and I’ll get it some day hopefully not too long. (can’t be that long since Odin is bi-weekly now right!?)

I went to farm a bit after since I have to pick up GF for lunch and shopping in the afternoon, don’t have enough time to do anything productive beside that. Until next Odin!?!?

Odin Fight Preparation July 25, 2008

I check linkshell forum this afternoon and found that they want me on WAR for tomorrow Odin, YAY!? I assume because another PLD we have has only BRD as alternate job and we already capped out on BRD so he probably better to stick on PLD. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not whining for how they drop my PLD or get mad about it in fact I find it is good chance of pace. Like I said in previous post about how I feel discouraged when tanking Odin and stuff, get chance to come as WAR instead isn’t bad thing at all. It allows me to do something I will never do if I tank Odin like trying to get good screen shot for blog (maybe this isn’t something I should do in ideal world lol but whatever not like we can do Odin everyday so I take every chance I get!)

Thinking about what sub job I could use, NIN? maybe if I want to play safe but not this time when I have one of the best WHM and RDM in same party with me. That is correct! SAM sub job for tomorrow Odin. I need get few more medicine too, lucky I still have left over remedy from last Odin fight which happened 4 months ago.

Another Frustrated Odin? July 24, 2008

Odin fight is schedule at 7AM this Saturday, first Odin since I come back. Odin fight is sort of discourage fight for me, we usually have 2 tank (I’m one of them) and 3-4 melee who have really good gears and good on their job so basically I’ll hate will bounce between us 5-6 and no way to have Odin on both tanks 100% of time. That is why I said it is kind of discourage fight, although I understand why this happen but I still find it is killing my pride in tanking. Hey you are tank yet your melee still have hate over you often, yeah that feeling really kills me.

Odin loot is frustrated as well. Sure it can drop juicy abjurations and stuff but seeing record of Odin drop for my linkshell make me question myself, So 2 weeks worth of work simply go waste? or Why they even bother add those useless new abjuration in Odin loot pool?, oh maybe they just want their player to waste more time to get decent item.Let’s see what we got from Odin.

With current price of currency that significant lower, almost by half since I bought currency last time, getting relic doesn’t seem to be a distant dream anymore.

I have been fan of Amanomurakumo for a while basically because reading about its performance from random Rukenshin post on BG forum and his live journal. But I have been interested in Apocalypse lately on how it can change DRK play style other way around because of unique characteristic of Catastrophe that allow you to reach 25% equipment haste while can swap around other gears and allow you to use Hasso/Souleater more often and less stress on healer side, basically I find Apocalypse can take DRK to another level of game play while other relic like Amanomurakumo is powerful sure but it just allow SAM to spam Tachi: Kaiten instead of Tachi: Yuki/Gekko/Kasha (although it probably stronger than Apocalypse after all lol)

I’m interest in those 2 ,Bravura and Mandau but Bravura has little down side because WS that comes with it is pretty useless and I still have to use Raging Rush anyway so what I get is 20 accuracy and D99 weapon, 20 accuracy not going to make me swap other peice of gears around like 20 accuracy on Amanomurakumo did since I’m not going to swap Adaman Hauberk for something with higher attack but don’t have accuracy on it like Byrnie+1 or TP in Flame Ring instead of Sniper Ring+1 etc. For Mandau I’m pretty certain it is a powerful relic and another advantage is I’m going to upgrade it on my friend character who already have Dynamis Dagger so that is going to lessen money I need a bit and will be a great present to him if he comes back.

Another thing that I need to consider is currency needed and price of them, even price of currency has been lowered a lot but some kind still worth a lot more than other for example of Byne bill and Bronze piece. Thanks to Relic calculator on FFXIAH site, it is easy to get big picture of how much money I need for each relic based on current price of currency. Here is estimate price of each relic, I put current price of Byne = 5,000 , Bronze = 8,000 , Shell = 6,000

  • Mandau 84.8M
  • Apocalypse 88.8M
  • Amanomurakumo 97.4M

That doesn’t include price of materials need for each stage upgrade I think so I probably need another 500K too. Roughly 10M different between Apocalypse and Amanomurakumo and I’m sort of bias toward Apocalypse too so that make me easier to pick hehe.

Well now let’s estimate time I to get all money I need, consider all money making option I have.

  1. Crafting : 250-400K per week roughly (I’m big fan of low tier crafting and sell in bulk more so I practically don’t touch high loss-high profit item much)
  2. Selling AP item : 230-250K per week
  3. Selling ZNM item : 300K per week or 2 week (this is highly depends on LS raid)
  4. Farming : 60K per hour (my average mistletoe farming)
  5. LS Gilsplit : 200K per week or 2 week (1 week if I put more effort to wake up early, doubt it)

Let’s be conservative here and say I farm 2 hours a day (play 5 days a week) and manage to get every week gilsplit but LS don’t do ZNM much so go with bi-weekly schedule. Now I make 250+230+(300/2)+(60*2*5)+200 = 1.43M per week. That means I need roughly (88.8-36)/1.43 = 37 weeks to complete Apocalypse or roughly 9 months! Doesn’t sound too bad huh?

Now I need to either wake up from this day dreaming or get it started!

I have been a fan of Arsenal foot ball club since I can remember possibly almost 10 years ago, it is like when I get to know about foot ball and stuff I like Arsenal and it is my favorite club since then.

Back then Arsenal was in middle rank of Premier League score board and Manchester United was like god of league and bound to be a champion, I have to admit back then was really Manchester United glorious time. First impression of Arsenal was Dennis Bergkamp, he was like food ball hero for me. Dennis Bergkamp serve Arsenal for a long time and IMO the best player the club ever had. I remember they have Seaman as goal and unbreakable Back Four (Lee Dixon, Tony Adams, Steve Bould and Nigel Winterburn), Overmars and Senden as wings and Bergkamp as forward, fucking solid.

One of Bergkamp weakness is he afraid of traveling by airplane which I fine it cute thought. He barely made match outside of England but if it is important match such like Champions Leugue match, he will be there via ship which take fucking forever lol.

Another man who is behind all of Arsenal success and the one who bring Arsenal to where it is, Arsène Wenger. He is damn great trainer and manager, no way Arsenal will come this far without him. Unfortunately the club fiance isn’t in the great shape lately mainly because of new stadium, Emirates Stadium. This partially force Arsene to sell out great player every season to deal with debt of the club, although Arsene is wellknown for buy low – sell high type of manager (he always get talent player and have them with club for few years then sell them (or forced to sell them) for great price) this shouldn’t be a problem with the club on pay the bill much but it is really annoy me that we won’t have great player with us long enough to make any real accomplishment. I believe if ask Arsene he might want to go back to Highbury,keep all those players and build the greatest team ever. Too bad that can happen only in my dream.
