Lost In The Crowd

I finally successfully solo (actually duo but I was 2boxing so might count as solo too!? ) Cheese Hoarder Gigiroon yesterday after 1 failed attempt, thanks to Hydroponic for tips!

My first attempt was failed because Qiqirns that link when I drag the NM to kiting area (F/G-8/9 room) weren’t depop and still beat me down (some of them are RNG so I was unable to kite them without taking any damage in the room) I probably don’t have to tell you how long the fight lasted, the NM didn’t even attempt to run away -_-

I went back to review my strategy again and ask for some information from Hydroponic who have soloed this NM before and realize my mistake is I was holding distance between me and the NM while I was kiting him to the kiting room because I was afraid of losing claim and make it depop. So that made Qiqirns that link never stop chasing me because I think they still manage to have me in their sight all the time. (or some sort, like I’m not too far away from it to make it depop), Hydroponic told me that I just have to keep running and don’t worry about the NM because it won’t depop and will never go unclaimed as long as I don’t do something stupid. (like engage and disengage on it)

This time I come up with another strategy about duo it on RDM/NIN and BLM/NIN trading hate between 2 character and kite it around F/G-8/9 room, which apparently work very well and speed up the fight a lot (for sure lol since I have 2 character instead of 1 -.-) What I did is stay at max range for trade and pop the NM then run like hell back to F/G-8/9 room and never look back. There is one thing to keep in mind that there is a door at G-9/10 room and you will have to spend time click on it to open it so time it right and don’t waste much time open it or Qiqirns that link or the NM might get to you, the rest of way to F/G-8/9 room is cake.

When get in room I usually have pretty decent distance so I cast Bio 2 on him and spend some time kiting around and recast refresh and haste on both of my characters (if NM happen to be close I just skip Bio 2 and start kiting/buffing), after that done I will use another character to nuke. (usually use highest nuke available such like Thunder 3/4 depends on whoever doesn’t pop the NM) When that character get hate then start recast buff (if needed) and nuke on another character and start kite after, I always not kite on RDM and recast refresh/haste/buff or medding instead nuke then when NM come close. Sometime in late fight simple nuke from RDM won’t get NM off the BLM if that happen I just stop kiting and just let NM beat me up (have Earth/Terra’s staff equipped of course) and cast Cure 4 on RDM to gain some hate, maybe another nuke from RDM would work as well but I usually don’t since by time NM still on BLM the BLM will eventually run out of available utsusemi spell (all of them will be in recast phase) so cure is needed, I also find it safer this way too.

Basically repeat those and medding when NM start run away until he dies, usually take 15-25 minutes for me depends on how long and how often NM decide to run away. Things that have to remember are

• NM will return from side he run away from so you will be expecting him there.
• Qiqirns that link might be able to get in the room sometime (although it is pretty rare for me) I try to stay away if they happen to run into the room, not sure if can link though but they will eventually depop anyway.
• Always have Shell 4 or above on you to reduce bomb damage.
• DO NOT CHASE HIM when he run away, ever.
• He can triple attack and will triple attack a lot so might as well always recast utsusemi: Ni when NM about to attack, he won’t be on you for long enough since he will chase when nuke from another BLM or RDM land anyway.
• Sometime he won’t run away for long so better spend few second to see if he managed to run outside the room (can always have target on him to see where he goes) so you don’t waste time sit and get up if he happen to run just little outside the room and comes back.

I got 2 Beast Slayers out of 3 pops and zero Armadillo Cuisses granted that I don’t have TH present, not really care about drop anyway since the rare/ex item needed to pop 2nd tier is 100%. Now I have 2 Maroon Seal ready to buy 2nd tier pop item and another Gigiroon’s Cape ready to trade for another key item, I’ll be attempting 3 Iriz Ima this evening, will report result later!
