Introduction to Mini-Enicruz, Adventuring Fellow September 29, 2008

This is one of many things I have said before that I would never touch it in my entire FF11 life, like when I said I would never leveling DRK or DRG ever. Yep I lie and I actually do all of them.
I played with my Adventuring Fellow (which I’ll refer them as a NPC in this post) for few days year or two ago when it released and never touch it since. I choose my NPC race and face same face my friend Enicruz, Tarutaru 6A face but unfortunately I can’t choose my NPC as large as him. It was so funny first time I show him my NPC and we went out to leveling our NPC together and my dumb NPC think it is smart to provoke mob that I just cast Dia on so yeah, first call and he died already. I played with my NPC a little bit more and get him to level 31 before tossed my Signal Pearl and never get it back until last week.
Say hello to Balu-Falu, my adventuring fellow! I change his combat style to Healer after few days of leveling him since it is so damn annoying when he say “Bring it on!” and get one-shot right after, well probably my fault that pick his combat style as Shield to begin with >.>
He is currently level 38 and I still can’t get Past Reflections quest which I need to complete to increase fellow bonding cap to 50 so I can do Tactics Pearl quest. Wiki said I need 30 fellow bond to start Past Reflections quest which I’m really confident that I have enough because my NPC is level 38 so I have killed at least 219 monsters and my NPC last 15 monsters each call because my fellow bond doesn’t reach level 30 yet, that mean I call him at least 14 times and I get 3 bonds every time I call him and fight for those experience so my fellow bond should be capped at level 30 already. Yet I still can’t get Past Reflections quest from Luto -_-
Well not much I can do about it I guess, I’ll just keep leveling him, check Luto sometimes and see if I can get quest. I still have at least 2 weeks left to figure this out and get the quest done else my npc will be capped at 50 and can’t do limit break quest because I don’t have enough bond -_-

My Doraemon searching mission is officially done!
7-11 store has this campaign for September, every 40 Baht worth of their goods you can buy Doraemon figure for 19 Baht. They have 10 actions of Doraemon which represent each sport in Olympic. I like Doraemon a lot but apparently I’m out of league when compare to my GF. She ADORE them and she has her mind set when she watch this campaign advertisement for the first time, she will get all of them.
This probably don’t have anything to do with me at all except she can get only 2 actions from 7-11 near her office and they run out of stock after first few days so she ask me if I can pick up the rest for her. Of course I will do it, I just have to check 7-11 store around my place and office right? easy enough. Next week I spend few days ask every 7-11 store around my office, all of them (3) don’t have any action left and told me these Doraemon is really popular. I’m not ready to give up yet so I ask them if there will be new lot arrives, they told me their shipment will arrive every Monday, Wednesday and Friday evening but they don’t know what will arrive. So I’m doomed, I have to check their store every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and see if they have Doraemon figures.
I’m sorry, we don’t have any Doraemon figure left.
That was answer I usually get when I ask them a week later except one time they told me they got 60 of them in Friday’s shipement but all of them are gone by Saturday, some bought like 10 of them. Yep it is safe to say Doraemon figure is serious business. I start increase my search range, I ask every 7-11 store I found on my way home, every 7-11 store I can think of and get 2 more actions. Me and my GF manage to snag 4 more actions when we went to the park for short bike trip and semi picnic that day we bought so many ridiculous stuff like lame green tea, coffee bags etc. just to get enough to buy more Doraemon -_- We got last 2 actions 2 days ago when we went to my colledge to have a dinner and meet her mom after, I was so luck about it since they have both actions I need and only 1 of them left.
Doraemons are so awesome, it was worth it!

It has been awhile since my last entry and I have a lot of excuses for not posting much lately hehe, really depress about the game combine with a lot of work which due this week and bla bla bla. Anyway here I am!
My first impression on version update is I’m fucked, they nerf remedy selling price. There goes my primary income source, I was really frustrated first few days after the update and almost give up on new relic project since obviously it will takes s lot longer than I expect without extra money from farming (remedy, sort of). Of course that just another time I was little bit emotional, I took a few days looking for other option for farming and finally get back into business again! Goobue farming is some what decent and I can leveling my NPC while I’m farming too, but of course nothing beat mistletoe farming with extra IS point for ISNM :\
Another thing that was depressing me is certain LS policy that I sort of disgree with. Well I’m aware that there is a bottom line of “You can always leave if you don’t like, nobody force you to stay” let me tell you, that phrase is retarded. Anyway I won’t be discussing (whining) further details because it has been dealt with and with possibly the best outcome I can ask for.
Oh on the bright side, I think I have a Nyzul assault set now. I use “I think” because I don’t even have chance to meet them yet and I already missed their first run so I don’t know if still have a spot for me. For now I need to find a pick up run for Nyzul floor 1-15 before this Saturday, 2 days left so hopefully I get lucky with the shout :\

Version update day yay! I woke up and start download patch, it requires 2 hours to complete downloading. Not too bad although I got few timed out error while trying to get the update start but after few tires it went fine, hopefully I won’t disconnect while I’m at work today.
I read update note and there are few interesting thing to me in additional of previewed one, hey I don’t say all of them is good to me just interesting

Event Related
New quests have been added focusing on areas introduced in the Wings of the Goddess expansion pack.
Good I suppose, although I don’t do much quest unless I need it done for some game content prerequisite.
An introductory tutorial NPC teaching players the fundamentals of game-play has been added to each of the three nations.
* The tutorial feature will only be available to characters created after the release of the September 2008 version update.
Hello I don’t give a fuck about NPC and its stuff, 1 count for useless thing to me.
The artifact quests for the following jobs can now be undertaken multiple times. This allows players to reacquire pieces of artifact armor as they see fit:
Blue Mage / Corsair / Puppetmaster
Good, just in case I want to do AF+1 for my BLU and more opportunity to make money for me for those who need stuff to redo their AF.
New quests leading to the acquisition of new job-specific weapon skills have been added.
* Please note, however, that giving job-specific weapons to the care of storage NPC Ghanraam in Aht Urhgan Whitegate will cause all data associated with the quest to be reset.
Useless, a guy who don’t even have a assault or nyzul set like me would never get hand on Nyzul Weapon let alone completion of Mythic Weapon.
Chocobos are now available for rental in the following areas of past Vana’diel:
South San d’Oria (S) / Bastok Markets (S) / Windurst Waters (S) / Jugner Forest (S) / Pashhow Marshlands (S) / Meriphataud Mountains (S)
* Players must be a minimum of level 20, in possession of a “Chocobo License” key item, and be affiliated with one of the armies of the three nations to be eligible to rent a chocobo. Rental fees will be charged in Allied Notes rather than gil.
* Neither chocobo whistles nor the chocobo digging feature can be used in past Vana’diel.
Awesome, although use Allied Notes instead of gil is sort of stupid for me (but probably good for others player)

Version Update Day To-Do-List September 8, 2008

Server maintinence and FF11 version update will occurs at midnight and finish at 5 A.M. my time so it is impossible to me to wake up middle of update to start download 81.3 Mb update file, actually download 80 Mb file alone would take me half of day let alone download in crowded time. Best bet I could get is wake up normally and start download before I go out for work and hope I don’t get disconnected while download the patch (which likely I’ll) get home and find I timed out few minutes after I left home in the morning and still have 2,000+ files to download blows. Don’t laugh, that happen last time I update my FF11 before I came back to game :\
What make it worse is linkshell have Einherjar schedules few hours after maintinence is over so it is impossible for me to attend. Okay now what ? I need to log out at Hazhalm Testing Grounds tonight and hope maintinence is finish without any extension.This option sounds very easy but the problem is I know SE will have to extend maintinence somehow ._. if that happen what I can do? hope, yeah really. I hope maintinence extension take very long (4-5 hours) or more and more extend (like 2-3 extension with 2 hour each 
) so it get too late to do anything in game and Einherjar get poseponed to Saturday 
if there is extension but not long enough, linkshell will do Einherjar anyway and it is late for my friend to play so he can’t log me in for flag :\ missing 1 flag for Odin because of maintinence can make me go emo and write whole post just to whine about it for sure!
Now, time for to-do-list!
- Log out at Hazhalm Testing Grounds.
- Reboot router and reconnect to my ISP.
- Wake up at 7.A.M
- Download patch.
- Take a shower and have a breakfast.
- Check before leave to work if I get disconnected.

I have heard about Gossip Girl for awhile but don’t have a chance to watch it until recently. I got copy of season 1 DVDs last week and watch it for 4 episode straight yesterday cause me to go to bed way late and very sleepy this morning ._.
I really like relationship between S and D, they look like great couple that decent guy have good influence on spoiled girl and turn her around. I like that idea hehe, usually see in Thai drama though. C is antoher of my favorite character too, playboy and shit as well as his favorite quote “I’m Chuck Bass” really make this character interesting. The show is like soap opera with good production and hot chicks, well that is enough to make me watch it already.
I’m going to spend my very little free time (after lame FF11 farming) each day on this show hehe, hopefully it get more fun and nasty later, end of disc 1 where S and B works things out make the show little boring with out cat fights and blackmailing.

I’m working on Einherjar page which I’ll included every Einherjar I do and statistic of each one and will update in that page instead so main blog won’t be flooded by same Einherjar over and over. Stay tuned!
I’m still on Einherjar lucky streak. We did Gerhilde’s Chamber and end up with 3 waves of normal monster and Hydra boss. We have 30 attendees for this chamber with whole party of 2box account again. Einherjar seem to be raid that everyone show up, including me hehe. I’m pretty sure I put effort on attending Einherjar more than other raid, I wake up early and join Einherjar as much as I can. Probably same as others because reward on Einherjar is delicious, this is why we always capped on people in Einherjar most of the time.
First wave is 12 of Margygr, the Ahriman. Ahriman can be very annoying when they decide it is cool to do Level 5 Petrify every time it use special move as well as Binding Wave. I remember many time we split melee to fight 2 at the same time and two of them just use Level 5 Petrify over and over, make me want to bash my head to a wall when my petrification effect just wore off and BAM I’m petrified again. But not this time it seems, I got petrified once entire fight with Ahriman.

Sea is one of the most place I hate, I hate all of them except Al’Taieu because it is only one place that I have a map for. I think don’t have a map is major reason I don’t like the place, every area is look just same and while I’m thinking I’m at right place but in fact I’m not. I try to get map for awhile but just give up because of that reason, I don’t know where I am and where to look for Quasilumin. I think The Garden of Ru’Hmet is the most place I’m familiar with but that is limited to first floor that Ix’aern pop only, all I idea I have is run to Ix’aern pop spot and run back to lobby.
I did sea raid with linkshell last Saturday after Odin. We start with Jailer of Faith then split group to do Ix’aern DRG and Ix’aern MNK followed by Jailer of Temperance and Jailer of Fortitude and end up with outside Jailor which is Justice, Hope and Prudence.
We spent awhile looking for Faith pop spot, I follow people around and agro Zdei like usual ._. I adjust my gears a bit to do kiting on WAR sub job and find that I’m a bit rusty when it comes to kiting. I usually not keep much distance and always stop for provoke and flash when I’m able which cause me to eat Stonega 3 and Stone 4 few times. The spell isn’t much problem at all since it doesn’t one shot me and I can cure myself, I don’t risk eating Quake 2 thogh. I find this is better than just keep running and avoid getting hit with magic as much as possible which it is sort of hard to do on Faith because every time you stop to wait for him to get in range for your spell he will start casting on you as soon as he get in range also and it is hard to avoid Stone 4 and Stonega 3if you take off after you finish cast Flash or Provoke. So what you can do if you want to avoid Faith spell is keep running and barely use hate ability or spell. However this is depending on where Faith stop to cast too, kiting room being a square shape and sort of small is one of reason make it hard to avoid his spell when you stop to cast as well.
Unfortunately first page of this entry will be screenshot-less because I was busy kiting Faith and stuff. We don’t get any Faith Torque from 2 Jailer of Faith we did though just First Virtue and weapon which is yeah 100% drop ._.

I fought 5 Tinnins last week, yes you read it right FIVE Tinnins. Tinnin path is the easiest path to get pops IMO because its 1st and 2nd tier can be solo or duo easily so can do that in your own free time and be ready to pop 3rd tier in linkshell raid. Also its drop is sort of good, Alkalurops, Enkidu’s Harness and few hundred K Gil item like Hydra Fang and Hydra Scale.
Tinnin is Hydra type monster who has 50% HP and 1 head when it pops and regenerate its 2nd and 3rd head when time past, each regenerate give it 25% HP too. It has access to all Hydra move and its head is unable to cut off, that means it have acess to Nerve Gas 100% of time when 3rd head is regenerated. It aslo has a pattern to use Nerve Gas (much like what Serameya has) which is it will use Nerve Gas after it use Bulwark move (Pyric Bulwark or Polar Bulwark), this make it very easy to deal with Nerve Gas. When you see it use Bulwark just prepare to cursna, cure and poisona tank. For me when I see it use Nerve Gas I just cast Cure 4 on myself right after because my WHM is really fast on cursna and sometime more Cure 3 or 4 if needed, I don’t bother with ask for poisona though because poison is good for self curing and I don’t lost anything to do so.
Our strategy is use 2 PLD/NIN and WAR/NIN to tank with random 1-2 melee (DRG or THF) free WS and random skill chain if time is right. Our main damage comes from BLM and SMN, black magic works wonder on Tinnin unlike normal Hydra. I think it can be slowed and elegy fine which make it attack very slow, incredibly easy to tank with ninja sub job. It breath move (Pyric Blast and Polar Blast) can be annoying sometime because it ignores shadow and deal pretty decent damage with paralyze additional effect (on Polar Blast)
I think I’ll keep my shadow refreshed more often to be prepared for Trembling and I don’t have problem with my Ususemi timer when Tinnin is debuffed and have 2 co-tank anyway, might as well always have 2 shadow all the time if possible. Trembling can be deadly if you don’t have shadow or have just 1 image since it can be blocked by 3 shadows and sometime 2 shadows, it deals huge damage. I saw Tinnin one shot our favorite Galka DRG/SAM in the first fight, I was wonder on how he just landed from jump and died right after but I figured it out few minutes after that it was cause by Trembling.
As far as drop goes we got 2 Enkidu’s Harnesses, 2 Enkidu’s Caps, 3 Oracle’s Cap out off 5 Tinnins, 0 Shusui and Alkalurops. I check our Tinnin record and found that we don’t get any Alkalurops from all 9 Tinnins we did, shame decent item always have low drop rate. Oh maybe it is the way SE make good item remain rare?

I have had connection problem since last Friday. The problem is after around 11A.M. my international connection speed goes down to hell, this happens for last 3 days. I check ISP link status and found everything is fine based on information on website but my problem still occurs. Today in the morning I decide to call their call center for technical support, I told them my problem and its pattern.
Me : I have speed problem, after around 11 A.M. of past 3 days I’m unable to connect to foreign website such like Youtube, CNN, Yahoo, and so on, before 11 A.M. like 6-10 A.M. everything is fine.
Call center guy : Oh we don’t guarantee international connection speed.
I sort of frustrate with his answer so I decide to repeat his answer.
Me : So if I’m unable to access any website that located outside Thailand, you don’t see that is the problem and you won’t do anything about it?
Call center guy : I’m sorry but we don’t guarantee international connection speed.
Okay now I’m little pissed.
Me : I get it, so you provides internet service for accessing local website and bittorrent only? what kind of internet is that? I bought your internet package not local net package.
Call center guy : Yes I’m sorry but that is our policy.
Yep I got owned by their “not guarantee international connection speed policy” Maybe I should look carefully when I apply for their service? Yes but when I went back to review their package I found this little note in EVERY consumer package and apparently not guarantee speed also including unable to access at all too.
What make it worse is further conversation with call center guy is he told me to check my line, test speed and shit, I was like what the fuck you seriously think I’m that stupid? I even told him I try using different account which is post paid account (with retarded fee like 0.75USD per hour) just to figure something out and found that on that account I’m ABSOLUTELY fine in every aspect of connection speed. Definitely problem on their side which I’m thinking about unbalanced traffic on gateway that I use, I told him that and ask him to check it out if that is the case.
Call center guy : I don’t think I can do that, I don’t have authorization and we don’t guarantee international connection speed.
Now I’m totally pissed and almost unleash on the guy.
Me : Umm nevermind, please do whatever you can then. (probably nothing at all) and can I have your name for further reference if problem still remains?
Call center guy : Yes sure, my name is XXXX
I hang up the phone and try to claim myself down. I think I’ll wait few days (with hope) and see if it get better, if not I might have to looking for new ISP.
