Brave Blade always my priority for Nyzul Weapon since I start doing Nyzul run a month a go, it dropped for our group once when we do our first run for floor 1-5 which one of my favorite Tarutaru PLD get it. I was hoping for it to drop since then and try to pull/fight (pulling on purpose or intentionally agro them on accident!) as many as NM I can for a chance of Brave Sword dropping, still no luck until last week.
I was going to wait until I reach floor 100 which is 2 weeks away to start doing WS point for Atonement but after few day I just can’t wait to get Atonement because it is simply owns -_- so I went to wiki and check how much WS point I need if my runic disk is saved at floor 70, 1360 points not too bad right? it is only about 300 level 3 skill chain, I convinced myself. So I decide to go down to Kuftal Tunnel in Sunday’s afternoon, pop my Empress Band and start whacking every Robber Crab in my sight. I start with keep track of how many skill chain I did but stop after awhile since I was too lazy to get up and type it on keyboard, laid down on the chair and use controller is much more comfortable -_- I usually get 1 skill chain on a crab, rarely I get 2.

I notice my exp bonus wore off and my character inventory are fulfilled with crab shell, lucky Windurst gain control in Vollbow territory so I can run back to out post and sell them all to NPC. I think I start doing this around 2PM and now it is 6PM, 4 hours into this Robber Crab massacre already and I still don’t see Atonement pop up in my weapon skill list. I took a break, went to make a dinner, ate them, shower, and back to my pathetic hole of getting a video game accomplishment. I know I must be close to finish this, I can feel it. I continue mindlessly kill a Robber Crab and now a Cave Worm as well for another 2 hour, still no Atonement.
I gave up, logged off and went to sleep.
Next day I got home after work and decide to work on WS point some more since my character still at Kuftal Tunnel, I was thinking about just do it until my EXP bonus wear off and move on to other things. I repeat same thing as yesterday for another hour and BAM! Atonement is there!

I was so happy and looking for a warp cudgel so I can go to Jeuno to get it done for good except warp cudgel wasn’t there -_- I somehow left it in my Mog house before leaving for Kuftal Tunnel. So I have to walk to Vollbow outpost and teleport back to Bastok then warp to Whitegate and get to Jeuno after, what a trip ._.
After 9 hours, get around 13,000 EXP in span of 2 days I finally get Atonement done. It is totally worth it! Thanks to SE that allow us to store Nyzul weapon on NPC, I trade my Brave Blade along with a Imperial Bronze Piece and get my precious inventory space back. Oh and unlocking WS animation from this NPC is cool too

Splitting Heirs October 29, 2008

Sandoria manage to take over La Vaule (S) and all of its front area last week on Bismarck so Splitting Heirs is available for Sandorian people, this effectively cause me to switch my nation. I have an idea of changing my nation in the past to Sandoria floating around for awhile because I want Iron Ram Sallet Set for my MDB built on PLD, just don’t have right time to do so (AKA I’m not lazy)
Splitting Heirs is one of the funniest and challenging BC I ever did as well as potential of making money, just about perfect! I did it on 2 different occasion with 3 and 4 run each, first 3 run didn’t drop any Witch Sash or Cuchulain’s Mantle but other 4 we manage to get 3 Witch Sashes but still zero Cuchulain’s Mantle.
First run, our party consist of PLD/NIN, THF/NIN, RDM/WHM, RDM/WHM and BLU/NIN (for first attempt and change to BLM/WHM for 2nd and 3rd attempt. This is my first attempt on Splitting Heirs so I was kind of nervous since I have heard many bad things about it from my friend such like, boss can one shot PLD with 1400HP easy using his normal WS, hate was all over the place etc. and we do it with 5 people not help me with the feeling at all. I get to BC and realize I forget to pick up Reraise Gorget, when I ask if I need Reraise in the BC it was like all of them say I will need it. Hooray, I’m fucked. Lucky one of my friend didn’t leave the town yet so I ask him to get Reraise Gorget for me and I’ll pay him later.
I’m briefly told about our strategy and what I need to do, seem not that hard! I just need to pull Darkheir Grradhod then tank him and his minions at the entrance while they deal with adds and join me on NM after. I went to pull NM and his adds cast Bio 2 and Flash on me, there goes 2 images not a very good start I suppose. I get to entrance and have a little time just enough to recast Utsusemi: Ichi on me before NM and adds get to me, they wipe all of my Utsusemi images upon arrive. I cast Utsusemi: Ni and notice all of its images are gone just about after I finish casting, Okay now it is officially old school blood tanking time. I pop Sentinel and bitch slap Darkheir Grradhod with my shield to show him who is the boss here but sadly couldn’t stun him for long but is enough for others to tag left over add off me.

Darkheir Grradhod is indeed hardcore. It can and will double attacks a lot, able to use normal Orc special move including Orcish Deathstance (my friend term for Orcish Counterstance) and 2 hardcore moves called Shoulder Charge and Tornado Edge. Shoulder Charge is weird as it requires 1-3 shadow images to successfully block, it does 400-1400 damages and inflicts defense down status which need to be erased immediately. Tornado Edge requires 2-3 shadow images to successfully block (perhaps 1 shadow image can block it as well just like Shoulder Charge but that never happen to me) it does 400-500 damages and inflicts Max HP Down, Max MP Down and Max TP Down.
Max HP Down will decrease my max HP to around 1,000 so usually means Tornado Edge not dealing any damage after all.I didn’t notice how much Max MP down does but I never sitting at 80-100% MP anyway so this has little effect to me, Max TP down will capped TP at 100% These 3 status given by Tornado Edge need to be erase immediately as well, mainly for Max HP down but the thing is if you has a lot of negative status from this left over and get hit by stuff like Shoulder Charge you won’t be able to remove Defense Down status in time, not to mention Battle Dance that gives DEX Down effect that might get in line for erasing as well. To be short, just spam erase on whoever that get hit by Tornado Edge and Shoulder Charge.
While those 2 special move does suck but good thing is both of them are blockable using shield, blocked Shoulder Charge deal around 200-300 damages and blocked Tornado Edge deal around 100-200 damages. Both moves don’t inflict any negative status if they are blocked, however Shoulder Charge still knock you back if I remember correct (not 100% positive about this one) Also damage dealt is reduced when Sentinel is activated. Other thing that need to be careful with is tank might as well disengage when he uses Orcish Counterstance or he rapes your face good.
I notice that I was unable to hold hate well after 6-7 minutes into fight even with our THF constantly TA+Mercy Stroke on me, probably because both of us reach hate cap so hate bouncing is something to be expected. I think it is good to have someone to co-tank because a lot of time I have 4-5 second gap which both Utsusemi are down and I have to blood tank the NM, have someone with shadow to bounce hate with helps a lot. On the bad side Darkheir Grradhod one shot him 2 times when he was tanking and another time I think he get hate when Orcish Counterstance is activated so counter and normal hit rape him good -_-
We end up winning in 14-18 minutes and get a lot of junk, I win only 1 dark steel ingot from free lotting lol. I did another run 3 days later, this run, on the other hand is very successful.
PLD/RDM Versus Serameya October 28, 2008

As you can see I barely make a new post past few weeks, Yep your guess is correct the laziness got me again. I’m between this two feeling, burnt out and bored once again. But anyway I get chance to try RDM sub job on PLD couple weeks ago in Serameya right and it went really fine.
Before raid start I decide what sub job I should use consider Serameya attack fast just like normal Cerberus, has access to a lot of AoE spell and the best part is it can use chain spell and will use multiple times. I don’t think NIN sub would work well against Serameya, might as well just blood tank it so sub job that comes to mind at that time was WAR, RDM and DRK.

WAR is first one to throw out of the window because it is really boring and what it offers are so minimal when compares to RDM or DRK. I pick RDM because it gives me a lot of hate tool and MDB bonus which helps when fight caster mob like Serameya. As for gears I use pretty much same as defense/shield skill set which I use when I’m on PLD/NIN.

Eagle Eye, this movie caught my eye from its big wall poster in subway station on my way home as well as have Shia LaBeouf in it. I like his action in Transfromer, watching him run for his life is fun lol. I have very little knowledge about the film before I watch it. I picked it just because it is one of the only two non-Thai film in theater and another film is You Don’t Mess with the Zohan which I definitely wont watch.
Don’t have any clue about the film is good thing while it is hard to do that because every movie has its own way of advertising and most of them will either reveal you a part of story or some thriller which give you a clue about what is going on in the film. Well can’t blame that, it is the way it works since I assume you can’t expect people to come and choose your movie based on poster or randomly pick it out from theater show time board, like I did.

Another movie I watched last Saturday was Max Payne and I really like it. I think I play only first Max Payne and it rocks so sure I got excited when they make it into a movie. I don’t have any expectation thought even I play the game but that was like 6-7 years ago? I don’t remember most of it beside that cool “Bullet Time” thing. Mark Wahlberg maybe is a big “lol” in a lot of people eyes but he did really great job being Max Payne if you ask me. He really fit for Max Payne character, grief, furious and obsessed.
There goes the background of this post, let’s get to the point. I went to check internet forum day or two after I watch each film to see what other peopls think about it and I found that both movies pretty much epic fail in those people opinion. I’m surprised, What do you guys think!?
Worst Odin Ever, Happy Cat? October 15, 2008

Odin, we meet again. This Odin’s drop is definitely the worst we ever had, Phantasmal Abjuration: Body, Martial Abjuration: Legs and Hadean Abjuration: Head. Yes just 3 in loot pool and all of them are pretty crappy gears, but why I’m happy? clearly because Martial Abjuration: Legs drops and I got it

wut?
Now time to get it uncursed, I browse AH and found Cursed Diechlings sold for 30K or less which I could buy it immediately but hey 3 after years of chasing this abjuration I should make it something more special. Yep I’ll go for HQ, despite the fact that status HQ version offers is totally joke I still want it
Let’s take a look at recipe.
Cursed Diechlings
Goldsmithing (93), Alchemy (41)
- Fire Crystal
- 1 x Cermet Chunk
- 1 x Darksteel Cuisses
- 1 x Platinum Ingot
- 1 x Platinum Sheet
Lucky me it is tier 1 item, shouldn’t be too bad to get HQ crafted. One problem is Darksteel Cuisses is practically never sell on AH so I need to get it crafted somehow, I don’t have Smiting skill leveled so my best bet is ask some Blacksmith out there to craft it for me. Here is Darksteel Cuisses recipe, level 81 item isn’t too bad to find crafter I guess.
Darksteel Cuisses
Smithing (81)
- Fire Crystal
- 2 x Darksteel Sheet
- 1 x Ram Leather
Cursed Diechlings is semi pricey synthesis even get every material crafted (mainly Cermet Chunk, Darksteel Cuisses and Ram Leather) I still have to deal with Platinum Ingot/Sheet which cost 20K a piece. I did some price research via FFXIAH (love this site by the way)

So 1 attempt of Cursed Diechlings cost me let’s say 65K (can be little less if I manage to HQ Cermet Chunk) I have horrible experience with tier 1 item in woodworking and leathercraft, example of Mahatma Pigaches which I used to went as far as 0/24 and lost count before -_- I think I’ll gather enough material for at least 24 attempt before start crafting which probably cost me around 1.56M. 1/24 sound not too bad for tier 1 item right? -_- I hope so.
Anyway I won’t rush on get it made since obviously this piece serves very few situation and most of the time Iron Ram Hose is better, Kaiser Diechlings is just another trophy item I would love to have like I said it before

I Finally get chance to do mission 5-1 and 5-2 on my mule recently, I think I never touch mission again since I got rank 5 which gave me Airship boarding pass. Main reason I don’t bother with mission 5-1 is the BC involved is level 50 capped and the BC itself is sort of hard because it capped at level 50 so I can’t solo or duo it. I also never bother looking for group to do mission on shout channel or anything, basically just stop there and my mule is rank 5 for forever.
I talked to my friend on MSN during the day about he want to do mission 5-1 on his mule as well so I could come along and we might be able to duo the BC, well probably should say 4 man since we both 2boxing. I can tell you that we plan it BIG! We got every details nailed down, strategy, equipments, food and even medicine we should use in that BC.
Our plan is use 2 MNK/WAR (me and him) and 2 RDM/WHM (our mule) for the BC, we will be using Hundred Fist on the NM and have our own mule take care of our character. He will be dealing with adds if NM still presents after our Hundred Fish wear off and I continue up the NM. For food MNK/WAR will be eating sushi and RDM/WHM will be eating Tavnazia Taco to help with defense since they might get swarmed by adds when curing MNKs, RDMs will be using poison potion as well since NM can cast Sleepga and screw us over.
Our plan sounds good right? except when we actually did it half of the plan wasn’t necessary, we are overestimating the BC by miles ._.
I got home and found that my friend still not wake up yet so I went to Boyahda to leveling my NPC and farming while wait for him, not long after he woke up so I warped and went to Bastok to get my low level MNK gears off storage. I decide to put my MNK gears in storage because I don’t get chance to play it much consider it is one of the most gimped melee job I have, I can’t put those item on mule because 80% gears that I use exclusively on my MNK are R/E -_-. I figure I could use them instead of slack it up and use level sync’d gears. I bought stack of Bream Sushi and Tavnazia Taco, gave my mule a Tavnazia Taco and Poison Potion. I’m freaking ready and prepared, even more than when I about to fight Odin.

Fast forward here so this entry won’t be a role-playing novel, me and my friend get to Fei’Yin. We buffed up and went for NM, my friend engage NM while I’m still in process of spamming my job ability. Surprising enough all adds that already popped and pop during the fight went for him instead of me including the NM, for the first 50% or so then NM target me after while adds still on him and killed the NM shortly after. We went back to town to finish mission 5-1 and decide to do 5-2 as well since still have around 1 hour before my bed time, should be enough because fight is uncapped BC so don’t need much prepare. Oh I totally forget to use Poison Potion on my mule and never get hit as well, so much for defense food -_-

We took awhile to get to top of Castle Zvahl Keep, let me tell you the teleport pad in Castle Zvahl Keep are EXTREMELY annoying. I assume it has some sort of synchronized activating time with other telepad, well let’s say it this way it will turn on when you about to reach it and turn off when you step on it just about every time and took awhile to get it turned on again. I’m sort of okay when get to the top though because it is so pretty up there
Shadow Lord fight is very easy and we took him down so fast, we finish his first form while our mule still in cut scene -_- Overall fight is easy because we are level 75 and this BC is meant to be a level 60 fight when they released it I guess lol. I went to Sandorian after to finish the mission, get rank 6 and 20K for my halfassed effort. Now time to work on Zilart mission and rank 6-10!
Tossing Beastmen Seals October 6, 2008

I have this post drafted since forever probably few months ago. Back then I was going to talk about how Beastmen Seal and Kindred Seal are taking so many space in my inventory and what I’m thinking about to get rid of them. But hey that never happen, I redo this post after the latest update that allow me to store both type of seal so yeah this suddenly become the least problem to me now.
I took off to Bastok and get all seal off my storage. After relocate gears around in my Mog house, Mog Locker and storage I still have 6 space left in storage which I don’t have anything to put in
Maybe I’ll get the rest of my BLM gears off mule and put them in my storage instead.

So I trade all my seal to NPC and get +38 inventory as a reward -_- now what to do with these seal >.>
Only Beastmen’s Seal BC that provide consistent decent drops I can think of is Amphibian Assault (60 capped – 6 man – Torque) but unfortunately it is sort of hard to get it done because I need 5 more people who comfortable with my (lame) play time who are willing to go with me and I don’t I can 2box in those BC because I remember it sort of hard and need good job combination and skilled player as well :\
Other than that Beastmen’s Seal BC are pretty much “Gamble” to me but which BC has the best chance to win big ticket item and the most comfortable for me?
- Under Observation (40 capped – 3 man – Peacock Charm,Utsusemi: Ni) : Well yeah Peacock Charm BC, despite the fact that drop rate is pretty low (no surprise here) the BC requires only 3 people so it is easier to organize and possible of multi-run when we do it. Peacock Charm worth 1.5m, Utsusemi: Ni scroll worth 350K and can drop up to two scrolls in the same run.
- Up in Arms (60 capped – 3 man – Kraken Club) : Another 3 man run and I’m pretty confident that it can be duo with RDM and BLM as well but time limit (15 minutes) might be an issue, well can’t say for sure unless I attempt it on duo first. Drop rate on Kraken Club is retarded beyond help everyone knows that but the it worth probably 40M here easy so that might make the BC worth it in big picture and the BC always drop 3 Oxblood which worth 13,515 gils each to NPC, 2 Pearls which worth 1,200 gils each to NPC and Black Pearl which worth 5,000 on AH so guarantee 47,945 gils there.
For now I’m leaning toward Kraken Club BC only because it can be duo which mean I can do it anytime I want without have to wait for friend to log on and ask them to come. I have around 2500 seals so it means either 62 attempts on Peacock Charm BC or 41 attempts on Kraken Club BC. Do you think 1/41 on Kraken Club BC can happen?
Let’s take a look at another option.
Dynamis-Tavnazia October 3, 2008

Due to some technical difficulty I did Dynamis-Tavnazia instead of Dynamis-Beacedine that was planned last Saturday. We have way more than 18 show up so some have to sit out since Dynamis-Tavnazia is capped at 18 people only, this is my first chance to do Dynamis-Tavnazia so of course I don’t say anything when they ask if anyone volunteer to sit out for the run.
I have all key item from CoP Dynamis for awhile but always sit out when they do Dynamis-Tavnazia because I always have to leave for work after around 1 hour into the run so I never had a chance to do it before, but hey not this time! I was a RDM/WHM, in fact I play RDM in raid a lot lately mostly because I’m too lazy to swap job and gears around after done with farming and come to LS raid, sue me!
Because this is my first time in Dynamis-Tavnazia so I’m kind of nervous, not sure about what to do and what not to do. So I switch to my defensive mode! I shadow a WHM in my party, everywhere he goes I’ll be on his side so at least I have an excuse when something goes wrong (not really!)

Dynamis-Tavnazia is one of the funniest raid I did lately, probably because it is capped at 18 people so less people leeching, less room for error and more fun! Even I was put in a party with WHM and relic BRD I still find myself low on MP most of the time. We got pretty decent AF drop which is 2 COR pants-1, RNG pants-1, BLM pants-1, BRD body, BLM hat, RDM hat, PUP hat, SAM hat and MNK hat. RDM hat went free lot because everyone who has RDM leveled have it already, so it went to a guy with LV43 (I think?) RDM, lucky him! Oh and zero drop off Taurus mob, no Hydra stuff there T.T

We start with Nightmare Bugard and first thing I notice is wow this shit hit hard, each of its melee hit can bring our PLD and WAR down to yellow easy -_- then we went for Nightmare Worm and Nightmare Antlion after for another 30 minutes time extension and SJ. At first when they ask for a RDM to run in front of a PLD I was wonder why. I find out few minutes after that was because they want a RDM to pop Nightmare Antlion by let it ambush him instead of PLD, smart move haha. Nightmare worm is something needed to be careful with since it pop in a bad location, in a connecting halls where Nightmare Hornet wander around, and it draw people in so sometime people will get drawn in and close to agro hornet if they don’t move away in time.

Here I found my new “most hated” monster as well which is Nightmare Cluster. Nightmare Cluster comes with ability to fuck you up when it wants, spamming circle of ownage and self-destruct which can wipe your melees easy. We close to a wipe once when it use self-destruct and killed our tank and the rest of melee so we have to kite it and manaburn it down ._. Nightmare Hornets are also hardcore when it use Frenzy Pollen which turn them from time wasting mob to a killing machine.

I’m really looking forward to do Dynamis-Tavanazia more, probably next month since we rotate CoP Dynamis schedule
Ootoya, Japanese Food and Bow!? October 2, 2008

If you know me pretty well you probably know that I don’t like Japanese food. First, I don’t like them because a lot of their meal is mean to be cold such like Sasimi and Sushi, I don’t like cold food unless it is a dessert. Second I HATE FREAKING WASABI, wasabi is like a poison you eat it and it burn your throat and screw your nose tunnel (or whatever you called it lol) I really hate it especially when those chef think it is cool to hide wasabi under a piece of sasimi in sushi. I look at sushi and like OH HAY NO WASABI, I eat it and BAM! I’m screwed by hidden wasabi.
Ironically I have Japanese food for various meal very often, almost once or twice a week because my GF really love them. She LOVES saba-sasimi and wasabi, I always give her my wasabi. She used to think it is very generous of me but she find out later because I hate them hehe. We went to Ootoya (which means “the big door” in Japanese) restaurant for the first time yesterday. My first impression on this restaurant is waiters and waitresses are greeting their customer using Japanese phrase followed by Thai phrase, it is like they greeting you twice -_- then bow after, make me wonder if we went to right place lol. Oh and another thing is every time we call for the waitress she ALWAYS bow before and after take order/request, I’m not exaggerating about bow thing too. I understand you have your heart set on service mind concept but well it is way too much, I mean I’m not your boss and definitely not live in higher plain of existence than you so you don’t have to bow me -_- Instead of impress me you make me feel awkward ._.

This is our appetizer, mixed pork balls with egg. I don’t know if it is qualified as a Japanese food but it is delicious, they mixed their ingredient and stuff in their pork ball recipe very well as well as sauce. My GF shoe me how to eat it that she got from the menu, she slices the pork ball into pieces and put it into an egg then eat them together. No thank you, I’m not eat this awesome pork ball with egg -_- oh the macaroni is good too!
My main course is fried scallop and chicken with sauce. It supposed to be good but the sour sauce really ruin it all, well the sour sauce probably is what they intend but I hate sour. (I seem to hate a lot of thing ._.) Salty, sweet, spicy I don’t mind but sour is a big no no to me -_- so I sort of trade my sour stuff with my GF main course which is salty grilled “insert Japanese word here” fish. The fish is good but it has a lot of bones. Our main courses come with an awesome soup as well, lucky me my GF doesn’t like it so I have them both

Nope not finish yet! I order this fried chicken after I done with my main course
It is quite good and I like it a lot, maybe next time I’ll order it for my main course instead of this lame sour stuff :\ Hey I don’t eat all of them alone as you might think, my GF share a quite bit of them too! (just a last piece ._.)
Nyzul DUCK YEAH! October 2, 2008

I did my officially first Nyzul run last Saturday with new Nyzul group and it was fun. I get invite to their group last week but I missed their first run which they are kind enough to start over from floor 1 for me so I can get record on my Runic Disc. Our schedule is every Saturday 1PM EST which is midnight my time so the run will be finished around 2-2.30AM likely -_- well I can’t complain thought just hope I can keep up with this schedule for awhile >.>!

Before the run I was worry about what to do if we get lamps order floor since what I have read in few guide is sort of confusing so I still don’t have any idea how the lamps work and how we are going to do it. In 4 run I think we got lamps order 4 times and I didn’t get to do all of them, so lucky or I might fucked up -_- anyway I kind of get idea on how to do it now by asking Hellfire and observing what they did in those run, seem not too hard but need a lot of coordination and fast response :\ still if I can choose I won’t be doing them -.-
I was asked to come as a DD for the run, at first I was thinking about doing SAM/WAR since it is a lot of fun but when thinking again I’ll need to sneak/invisible around that reason alone is enough me to make me come as WAR/NIN >.> Well I don’t regret that decision. WAR/NIN is very versatile in Nyzul, what I forgot when think about coming as SAM/WAR is sometime we encounter caster mob as well and third eye can’t prevent those damage.

The rest of objectives are pretty straightforward but some of them are time consuming. We got 2 “kill all enemies” and followed by “kill specific family” which is pudding, really really suck if you ask me. Yeah we timed out on that one -.- also got few Nyzul Weapon drop. I really want Brave Blade for Atonement, I suppose should be easy since we have only 2 people in our set that have PLD leveled and one of them already have Brave Blade so should be uncontested for me next time it drops
I have up to floor 15 recorded on my Runic Disc now, really looking forward to this week run since we will be attemping floor boss
hopefully things went fine and get up to floor 35!
